Speech on "Sustainable Living"-- Living Green

In Association with Amazon.in
If one withdraws money from bank account faster than the money can generate interest on it, the account will eventually be exhausted of money.
Similarly, earth's resources will be deleted if they are consumed faster than they can be replenished by the planet. Currently we consume, 50% more Natural Sources than our planet can replenish. In other words, it is taking our planet 1.5 years to regenerate the renewable resources that  people use and absorb the carbon dioxide waste they produce in that same here.
At this rate, by 2030 even 2 planets will not be enough to fulfill our needs!

Rising pollution, falling water tables, shrinking forests and a host of other environmental problems facing us today show the pressure we are putting on the planet. with deteriorating quality and quantity of natural resources, our planet's ability to sustain a good quality of life in future is questionable. However, it is never too late to work towards ensuring a sustainable planet which provides clean air, ample fresh water an enough natural resources for the basic needs of all forms of life living on it, and for the generation that will call it home in future.

This we can assure if we adopt sustainable living from today onwards.

Sustainable living means living within one's fair share of our planets resources to improve quality of life without damaging the quantity or quality of these resources. This way we can, " ensure that meeting present needs does not compromise the ability of future generations to meet their needs."

The way we light our homes, drive our vehicles, fuel our factories and almost all our actions have an impact on our planet. Therefore everyone of us must shoulder the responsibility of our planet's healthy future. Slowly, but steadily, each of us can make a difference and surely we must.
